Harris MCDU
The Multifunction Control-Display Unit is one of the cockpit displays for the USAF A-10 aircraft.
Technical Description
The UI for the MCDU consists of a 10-line/22-character LED display and alphanumeric key panel. The screen page displays and keyswitch action definitions were defined using a propriety language called CDUSL. The CDUSL compiler would generate software source files in Ada or C which were then used by the software development team to produce the flight operation programs. A Visual CDUSL desktop utility was also designed to produce screen page layouts for the CDUSL compiler from a visual interface.
